David Moyes will leave Everton at the end of the season, the club have confirmed. Moyes is expected to be announced as the new Manchester United manager in the near future. Moyes leaves following eleven years at Goodison Park, a time which did not yield any silverware but stabilised a club of limited resources and earned 8 top 10 finishes in 10 years.

The Guardian reports that it is expected Moyes will take control of United on July 1, the day after his contract at Everton finishes.

The Manchester United press office appears to have accidentally posted the news of Moyes’ arrival early, posting a banner reading: “#UNITEDCONTINUED Send your personal welcome to our new manager David Moyes” on their facebook page.
