Munster have suffered a fresh injury setback today.
The province have confirmed that Ireland second-row Donnacha Ryan will require surgery on the toe injury that has kept him out of action since last March.
He will now undergo surgery next week and he is expected to be ruled out for the next four to six months.
Meanwhile, his province and international colleague Keith Earls will meet with the consultant early next week to further assess his knee injury, while Tyler Bleyendaal underwent a successful operation on a disc injury in his neck recently in New Zealand and is reported to be feeling comfortable.
