Munster came out on top against Edinburgh in the Heineken Cup, winning 26 - 17 at Murrayfield.
The failure to pick a bonus point leaves them three points behind Saracens in Pool 1 with a game to play.
The two-time winners scored two tries but it took until the 53rd minute to get the first one. The first was a penalty try while Conor Murray got the second.
But Dougie Fife responded with two late tries for Edinburgh to close the gap to eight.
Ronan O'Gara kicked four penalties and two conversions although he may face disciplinary action after lashing out at Edinburgh's Sean Cox.
