Manchester City midfielder Samir Nasri can breathe a sigh of relief after he was ruled out for eight weeks.
The Frenchman had feared for his World Cup hopes after he was hacked down by Newcastle's Mapou Yanga Mbiwa during yesterday's 2 - 0 win.
Man City manager Manuel Pellegrini had spoken of a "serious" injury after the game, but Nasri confirmed that he faces an eight week absence with a ruptured knee ligament.
Thank you everyone for your kind words and overwhelming support, i suppose its kind of good news that i will be out around 8 weeks
