Neil Warnock has stepped down as manager of Cardiff City after just over three-years in charge of the club.
Sunday's 1-0 defeat at home to BristolCity was their fifth of the Championship season so far and leaves them in 14th position.
Warnock took over at the Cardiff City Stadium in October of 2016, guiding them to a 12th place finish in the Championship table that season.
Cardiff would gain promotion to the Premier League in the 2017-18 season, meaning Warnock became the first-ever manager to achieve eight promotions.
The Bluebirds' stay in the top flight would only last one season, as they finished third-from-bottom.
In a warm parting statement, Warnock said, "It is a shared belief that this is the right time for a new voice as we believe this squad of players is more than capable of getting success."
Cardiff was Warnock's fifteenth managerial job at his thirteenth different club, and he said in July of 2019 that this season would "absolutely" be his last.

Warnock guided Cardiff through the untimely passing of record signing Emiliano Sala in January of 2019 en route to their relegation.
Chairman Mehmet Dalman thanked Warnock for his "invaluable contribution" to the club adding, "He not only gained promotion in his first season but played a pivotal role in uniting the fans and the club. I am personally upset by his departure and wish him the very best for the future."
The club say they will now begin the process of replacing the 70-year old, with an announcement on his successor to be made "in due course".
With the international break, Cardiff have nearly a fortnight to install a replacement and prepare for their next Championship game which comes away to promotion hopefuls Charlton Athletic.
Warnock calls Cardiff his "beloved Bluebirds", and thanks all connected with the club adding, "A special mention also to all of my players, past and present, who have given me everything.
"Thank you, you’re a great bunch."
