Killian discusses this on Team 33 with Joe and Derek

"If you had 100 million subscribers on 'Premier League TV', like you've got on Netflix, at £8 per-month, you're bringing in £10 billion per-year, not £8.7 billion every three years as the current deal does."

Those are part of the comments from Simon Jordan. The ex-Crystal Palace owner was advocating the Premier League becoming a "Netflix of football" during an appearance on Talksport.

And those remarks caught the eye of Joe, Derek and Killian on Team 33 this week.

Breaking even?

"His complaint was that the Premier League is giving away such a huge, vast amount of content that is worth much more to it, if it kept control of it," explained Killian.

"In principle, it sounds like a great idea. But it just goes to show there's huge naivety about what Netflix is and how streaming works. I don't think a lot of people understand how much debt Netflix is in. Netflix isn't a proven business concept. It's haemorrhaging money and they say they are creeping closer towards breaking even. By 2021, it's been forecast by Morgan Stanley that they will break even."
