Newcastle United have completed their fourth signing of the season, clinching the signature of Swedish international Emil Krafth on a four-year deal.

The 25-year-old has moved to the North-East of England for a fee believed to be worth around €5.5 million (£5 million). He's joined the club's other signings this summer of Joelinton, Jetro Willems and Allan Saint-Maximin.

Speaking after joining the St James' Park club, Krafth said to the club's website, "It feels really good. It's been a busy couple of days, but finally, I'm here. I'm very happy to sign for Newcastle and I can't wait to start training with the guys.

"When a Premier League team wants to sign you, of course, you are happy. I know Newcastle is a big club, so I'm very happy to sign here and to be here right now. It’s a good moment in my career to take a step forward. The plans Newcastle had for me, I felt like they were fitting me perfectly, so that was why I chose Newcastle."

Steve Bruce has been in charge at Newcastle since last month following the departure of Rafa Benitez after his contract ran up. Bruce said ""We're pleased to bring him here. He turned 25 last week and has great experience, with more than 20 caps for Sweden and having played in the top flight in three different countries.

"He's a good height for a full-back, speaks excellent English and is a very good player. He's a really good acquisition."

It is reported that Newcastle hope to add a striker to their squad by the end of the transfer window at five o'clock. It is believed the former West Ham forward wants a move back to St. James' Park and bosses at the club are keen he returns.

Andy Carrol left Newcastle United for Liverpool in January 2011.
