Tomorrow against Chelsea, Arsene Wenger will reach the 1,000 game mark for Arsenal.

An incredible achievement, we spoke to his former left-back Nigel Winterburn to get an insight into the real Wenger and how he revolutionized Arsenal.

"What was clever about Arsene Wenger was, he never said 'you have to do this'. He liked the players to go up and eat after training. There were supplements to take and tablets if you wanted to take them. They were always there for you, but you were never forced to take them and I think that was where he was very clever with the players," said Winteburn, who also explained how Wenger still made him feel part of the team while he was replaced by Sylvinho.

"[Our relationship] was still very good. This is why Arsene Wenger is so good. In my last season I was playing regularly up until Christmas and then he pulled me aside at an away game and started to say that things were going to have to start to change, that Sylvinho had come into the football club and I would be back up. Even then, I didn't resent him because he made you feel as if you were still part of the football club and made you feel special."
