The studio behind breakout cable hit Breaking Bad has officially greenlit a spin-off featuring criminal lawyer Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk). 

After months of speculation AMC confirmed it will produce Better Call Saul, named after the shyster's now famous catchphrase that's commonly seen on billboards and benches in the world of Breaking Bad. 

The series will act as a prequel and document how the sleazy lawyer, known to do whatever it takes to stay out of the courtroom, became so crooked.

Set to air in hour long episodes like Breaking Bad, it won't be as dark, instead making full use of Saul's irreverent humour ("If you're committed enough, you can make any story work. I once told a woman I was Kevin Costner, and it worked because I believed it.")

The show was given the go ahead after lengthy negotiations between cable network AMC and producers Sony TV. 

Presumably, it'll be written by the same people who write Breaking Bad, but the question remains:
