Ronan O’Gara will become Munster’s most capped player on Saturday against Cardiff Blues at Musgrave Park. The fly half will earn his 234th competitive cap for the province.
Elsewhere in the Munster side there are wholesale changes from the side which played Ulster last weekend, with just four players keeping their starting spot. Man of the match in that game Tommy O’Donnelly retains his place, alongside Doug Howlett, James Downey and Conor Murray. Keith Earls returns from injury to start alongside Downey in the centre.
In other news for Munster the province announced eight players have signed new contracts that keep them with Munster until the end of the 2014/2015. The players include three from the development squad- JJ Hanrahan, Dave O’Callaghan and Luke O’Dea, along with the more experienced James Coughlan, Mike Sherry, Dave Foley, Sean Dougall and back row Paddy Butler. Meanwhile Simon Zebo has signed a deal to keep him in the south west until the end of the 2015/16 season.
