There have been conflicting reports surrounding Arsenal's pursuit of Mesut Ozil, but news filtering in claims that he will undergo a medical soon. 

The Germany international will cost the club about €50 million after a fee was agreed with Real Madrid. Personal terms are have also been completed.

Strories had suggested this morning that the 24-year-old could end up at Manchester United but those rumours were quickly dismissed.

The fee agreed breaks Arsenal's record transfer fee by about €30 million.

More players have been linked to Arsenal including Karim Benzema and Angel Di Maria.

They are also expected to sign goalkeeper Emiliano Viviano from Palermo, while an enquiry is believed to have been made for Chelsea's out-of-favour striker Demba Ba.
