Czech footballing legend Antonin Panenka has been released from hospital following a serious health scare.
The 1976 European Championship penalty hero was rushed to hospital in Benesov last week after repeatedly collapsing at home, and placed in intensive care.
The 71-year old was placed on life-support as he battled COVID-19.
Panenka was later transferred to a hospital in Prague where his status was said to be stable. It's since been revealed he was also battling pneumonia.
The man whose dinked penalty past Sepp Maier in Belgrade in 1976 saw that spot-kick christened in his honour was released from hospital on Wednesday morning.
"I picked up Dad at the hospital at 11 o'clock today and took him home," Panenka's son Tomas told Bohemians 1905 - the club his father serves as honorary president.
"Fortunately, he already has negative tests for COVID-19, but he still suffers from pneumonia.
"However, the doctors recognised that he did not have to be in the hospital and released him for home treatment."
Last week, Panenka's wife Vlasta thanked those who had posted well-wishes from all over the world, saying, "I was also surprised that it got into the whole world! He has been my husband for many years, but I had no idea that they loved him so much abroad."
