Paris Saint-Germain's Aminata Diallo has been taken into custody in France, the club has confirmed.
It comes on the back of an investigation by Versailles Regional Police into an attack on another PSG player Kheira Hamraoui last week.
Diallo has been taken into custody in connection with the incident.
Both Diallo and Hamraoui play in midfield and are in competition with one another for places on the PSG team, as well as with the French national side.
Reports of the attack say that two masked men took Hamraoui from a car before attacking her with iron bars. They subsequently fled the scene.
Hamraoui was taken to hospital with injuries to her head and legs.
