Manchester City and England star Raheem Sterling has tested negative for COVID 19, days after attending a party in Jamaica with Usain Bolt.

According to Reuters, the Jamaican Health Ministry confirmed Bolt has tested positive for the disease.

Bolt celebrated his 34th birthday last Friday and is now self-isolating.

He is the only sprinter to have won successive golds in the 100 metres at three Olympic Games.

Sterling for his part will now hope to be named in the England squad for their upcoming Nations League fixtures.

A spokesperson for the player told Sky Sports that "Raheem feels fine and is showing no symptoms of coronavirus."

In a video posted on social media, Bolt said he was asymptomatic.

"I'm trying to be responsible so I'm going to stay in and stay here for my friends. Also, I'm having no symptoms, so I'm going to quarantine myself and wait on the confirmation to see what is the protocol and how should I go about quarantining myself from the ministry of health.

"I talked to all my friends and tell them that if they've come in contact with me, you should - just to be safe - quarantine by yourself and just to take it easy."
