Arsenal
Arsenal left it very late. Keeping their fans in suspense by sealing the free transfers of Mathieu Flamini and Yaya Sanogo, they left the best till last by capturing a genuinely world class player. Mesut Ozil moves to the Emirates for €50 million, galvanising the fan base as well as the players if Twitter is anything to go by.

Aston Villa
Villa made one deadline day move by signing Czech striker Libor Kozak. The 1m92 man provides cover for Christian Benteke.
Otherwise Paul Lambert concentrated on bringing in young talent like Jores Okore, Antonio Luna (or Tony Moon as they call him up Birmingham way), Nicklas Helenius and Alekasandar Tonev.
Shay Given stays at Villa Park however.
Cardiff City
Cardiff spent big (from the perspective of a newly promoted club) to bring in Steven Caulker from Tottenham, Gary Medel (Sevilla) and Frazier Campbell (Sunderland).
The most loyal man in the world, Peter Odemwingie, was fired out of West Brom's cannon and landed in the Welsh valleys.
Crystal Palace
Palace's deadline day attempt to bring bakc Andy Johnson fell flat as the clock went against them. But they were active earlier in the window to bring in Sevilla youngster Jose Campana, Jason Puncheon from Southampton and Marouane Chamakh from Arsenal.
Cameron Jerome arrived on loan from Stoke last night.
Everton
With 5 minutes to go before deadline day, James McCarthy arrived at Everton's training ground to finalize a move from Wigan. He was joined by Gareth Barry who also put pen to paper late on, while Romelu Lukaku turned down Wigan with little time remaining.
Roberto Martinez was very active throughout the summer, bringing in Barcelona prospect Gerard Deulofeu and former Wigan players Antolin Alcaraz and Arouna Kone.
Fulham
The Cottagers only deadline day rehoming involved Montenegrin Elsad Zvertovic. Holland goalkeeper Marten Stekelenburg (Roma), Adel Taarabt and Darren Bent (both loan), Scott Parker and Fernando Amorebieta were their other major purchases.
Hull City
At many points last night it seemed as if Shane Long would join Hull. That move broke down as a result of other transfer dealings.
But the Tigers still brought in Tom Huddlestone, Jake Livermore (both from Spurs), Maynor Figueroa, Curtis Davies and Danny Graham on loan.
Liverpool
The Reds were among the biggest movers and shakers this summer from the beginning of the window to transfer deadline day.
The final day recruitment drive which saw Tiago Ilori, Mamadou Sakho and Victor Moses arrive, augmeneted a squad already bolstered by the likes of Iago Aspas, Simon Mignolet and Kolo Toure.

Manchester City
Man City had a quiet final day other than completing the Martin Demichelis deal due to the fact that their business has been long concluded. Jesus Navas, Fernandinho, Alvaro Negredo and Stevan Jovetic all arrived fro big fees.
Manchester United
More on this later but Manchester United had a traumatic window. Fluttering their eyelashes at plenty of potential suitors they were knocked back time and again. Ultimately after a bungled attempt to secure Ander Herrera from Athletic Bilbao, the Reds had to settle for Everton's Marouane Fellaini.

Newcastle United
Where were the Magpies on transfer window? The question sums up the answer. It has not been a good window for Newcastle but they did hold on to Yohan Cabaye. Loic Remy arrived on loan from QPR.
Norwich City
The bulk of the Canaries transfer business was long completed before last night with the Dutch pair of Ricky Van Wolfswinkel and Leroy Fer arriving along with former Bolton striker Johan Elmander. Clearly Chris Hughton attempted to solve Norwich's problems in front of goal.
Southampton
The Saints were also in meditation mode on the final day having spent big on Daniel Osvaldo, Victor Wanyama and defender Dejan Lovren.
Stoke City
Stoke made a final flourish on deadline day by bringing in former Mark Hughes favourite Stephen Ireland and Austrian winger Marko Arnautovic.
Dutch left-back Erik Pieters and Barcelona's Marc Muniesa will also experience a wet, Monday night at the Britannia.
Sunderland
Paolo Di Canio completed an Italian job by bringing in Andrea Dossena and Fabio Borini (on loan from Liverpool). It was an intense window for the Black Cats who brought in more than 10 players. However they were unable to rid themselves of Phil Bardsley.
Swansea City
The Swans added to their options earlier in the window with the arrival of the prolific Ivorian Wilfried Bony and Jonjo Shelvey.
Tottenham Hotspur
Spurs were very busy over the window by wisely spending the Bale cash on Christian Eriksen, Paulinho, Roberto Soldado, Nacer Chadli and Etienne Capoue among others.
West Brom
The Baggies left it very late but managed to bring in Victor Anichebe, Stephane Sessegnon and Morgan Amalfitano.
West Brom had already brought Diego Lugano, Nicolas Anelka and Scott Sinclair (loan) to The Hawthorns.
West Ham
Sam Allardyce strengthened by making Andy Carroll's move permanent and bringing his former (failed) partner in crime, Stewart Downing.
