Authorities had to safely dispose of a car bomb near Rome's Stadio Olimpico ahead of Italy's Euro 2020 clash with Switzerland.
The Corriere dello Sport report that the device was discovered Piazza Mancini area, a few kilometres from the stadium. It was safely defused.
A passer-by reported a suspicious package inside a Smart car, with police tending to the matter just before 6pm local time.
Many fans were in the area, making their way to the Stadio Olimpico for Wednesday night's Group A game.
Italy head coach Roberto Mancini made one change from Friday's win over Turkey, with Giovanni di Lorenzo replacing Alessandro Florenzi at right-back.
