World Snooker's confirmed Ronnie O'Sullivan will face disciplinary procedures after failing to turn up for post match interviews at the World Championships in Sheffield.

He did not speak to journalists after beating David Gilbert in the first round, which he is contracted to do.

The Daily Mail report that he rushed to his dressing room, going on to cite one source, who "reported sounds of an angry outburst and 'banging, crashing and swearing' from behind the closed door".

"All players have a responsibility to the sport, and in particular to their fans. This includes fulfilling media obligations at events. Any players found to be in breach of these rules will be referred to the disciplinary process," said World Snooker in a statement.

At present Mark Williams is playing Graeme Dott while Mark Selby is underway against Robert Milkins.
