Paul Scholes has admitted that he is not expecting a call from the club about a coaching position at the club.

Scholes assisted Ryan Giggs during his short spell as interim boss but admits he does not think there is any role for him in the new back room team led by Louis Van Gaal.

Giggs has retired from playing but will act as the new manager's assistant.

In his Paddy Power blog, the former Man United midfielder also touched on Wayne Rooney's form ahead of the World Cup.

"I’m not saying Wayne needs to be dropped but if form doesn’t get up to scratch in the warm-ups, or in the first game of the World Cup, it’ll be interesting to see if the England management team has the balls to make that decision," said Scholes.
