The incident took place at around 5am on Monday morning and Christopher was later pronounced dead in hospital.
Europe 1 claim local residents called the police after finding the 26-year-old on the ground and it's been reported the killer fled the scene and is still on the run.
Christopher was also a footballer and was most recently on the books with French fifth-tier club Toulouse Rodeo.
Christopher had a trial with Brentford back in 2011 and also had a trial at Stalybridge.
The incident occurred just hours after Serge had featured in Tottenham's 2-1 win over Arsenal in the north London derby.
