Today, Off The Ball's Joe Molloy caught up with Shane Lowry, just weeks after the Offaly native made a promising showing at the US Open.
Their chat started off on a tangent - with a conversation about clothes and colour schemes.
"I tend to wear black and white a lot. I'm from Clara and our colours are black and white so that's the reason," said Lowry.
"I first wore it on a Sunday in Portugal a couple of years ago and that turned out well. And then I wore it at the US Open. I think it was documented because of what happened in San Francisco and Berkeley so I just said I'd do that for four days just as a little tribute to those kids. [Black] is just something that I like wearing. I think it looks good."
On his season to date, is satisfied that has seen him keep his place in the Top 50 and given him a great chance of retaining his US Tour card, with big opportunities on the horizon.
"I'm looking forward to four massive tournaments - the Scottish Open, The Open, Bridgestone and PGA - so if I can get a win in one of those it would be pretty big and I can make a big jump in the rankings," he said, adding that people might have got a little ahead of themselves in the wake of his US Open performances.
