Henry Shefflin celebrated his ninth all Ireland medal and being named hurler of the year for the third time in recent weeks however he still has some business to attend to with Ballyhale Shamrocks who face Dicksboro in this Sunday’s Kilkenny county final.
While Ballyhale are well known across Ireland their opponents don’t share the same decorated past. Having played intermediate hurling as recently as 2010 the club from Kilkenny City have defied the odds by making it to the final, including a stunning semi-final win over reigning champions James Stephens.
The 33 year old, who’s going for a 5th county medal, has been talking to Oisin Langan at the Electric Ireland event and started by telling him about the challenges of playing this late in the year.
