Republic of Ireland striker Simon Cox has signed for Reading.

The 27-year-old has signed a two-year contract at the Madejski after spending the past two seasons at fellow Championship side Nottingham Forest.

Cox started his career with Reading, making just two appearances in three years before leaving for Swindon in 2008.

Following his prolific two season spell at Swindon, Cox spent three seasons at West Brom, earning his first Ireland call up in 2011.
