Southampton are reportedly closing in on the signing of Italy and Cagliari defender Davide Astori.

The 25-year-old who is a product of AC Milan's youth academy has agreed terms on a €10 million deal according to reports in Italy.

Astori has attracted the attention of a number of clubs including Napoli and Spartak Moscow, while he has won two senior caps for Italy under Cesare Prandelli.
