St. Brigids have ended Crossmaglen's dream of three All Ireland Club Football titles in a row.

The Connacht champions beat the defending champions by 2-7 to 1-9 in Mullingar in the first of today's semi-finals.

Conor McHugh scored a crucial goal for Brigids five minutes from time and after that Kyle Carragher was sent off for Cross.

Frankie Dolan got the opening goal of the game for Brigids after four minutes but Paul Hughes replied for the defending champions with a goal in the 12th minute.

Oisin McConville was taken off for Cross after only 22 minutes.
