Manchester United are to unveil a statue of Sir Alex Ferguson outside Old Trafford on the 23rd of this month to mark the Scot’s 26th anniversary as manager.
The statue will be located near the entrance to the Sir Alex Ferguson Stand at the stadium and will join the statues of Sir Matt Busby and the “United Trinity” statue of George Best, Dennis Law and Sir Bobby Charlton, the statue which commemorates the club’s 1968 European Cup win.
A statement from the club read ”It will be placed in a prominent position near the entrance to the Sir Alex Ferguson Stand – formerly the North Stand which was renamed in his honour last year.
”The club will also be unveiling new artwork and installations in the Sir Alex Ferguson Stand concourses which will illustrate the manager’s achievements throughout his United career.”
