Ireland played out a scoreless draw against Poland in Poznan in what was just Martin O'Neill's second game in charge.
Despite making sweeping changes to his line-up and his formation, O'Neill's side created some of the best chances in the first-half, with Aiden McGeady firing into the side netting from an acute angle while Stephen Kelly's close-range header bounced narrowly over the crossbar.
However, it proved to be a very scrappy game overall, that featured few clear-cut chances, with Ireland's players unable to convert the few opportunities that fell their way.
Ex-Ireland midfielder Steven Reid was on the line for Off The Ball to assess the performance and he saw positives.
"It was another clean sheet so two clean sheets in the two games which they're going to be delighted with. The first half they're going to be especially pleased with.
"I thought Aiden McGeady carried on from where he left off against Latvia. It looks like he's full of confidence and playing under a manager that really believes in him. It looks like he is getting involved more. Over the last year or year and a half, in the internationals that he has played, for me he has been isolated. I think he's been encouraged now to drift infield more and get involved in the play. McClean was good as well so those two have been the highlights for me."
