German television channel ARD and French sports daily L'Equipe are reporting allegations of systematic doping in Russian sport.

Both outlets are reporting that three-time Chicago Marathon winner, Liliya Shobukhova, who also won the London Marathon in 2010, paid the Russian athletics federation €450,000 to cover up a positive doping case.

World athletics governing body, the IAAF, says that there is already an ongoing investigation by their Ethics Commission into Shobukhova's allegations.

She was handed a two-year doping ban in April.

The ARD report also linked doping to Russian officials and athletes in other sports, including swimming, cycling, biathlon, weightlifting and cross-country skiing.

There are also claims of a senior member of the Russian federation's medical department offering to supply doping products in exchange for 5 percent of an athlete's earnings.
