Today's top '88 moment is Netherlands captain Ruud Gullit's brilliant header in final against the USSR.
The Netherlands had already met the USSR in the group stages of Euro '88, losing out 0-1. Striker Marco Van Basten was omitted from the first match, but was responsible for setting up Gullit's header in the final. Van Basten would go on to score the team's second goal with an excellent volley in the second half, finally beating the USSR to take the title.
