Unai Emery is believed to be close to the sack as Arsenal manager after the Gunners lost 2-1 to Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League last night.

Arsenal are now without a win in seven games, with the club experiencing their worst run of form since 1992.

The official attendance at the Emirates Stadium last night was 49,419 on account of season ticket sales, but the ground was in reality only around two thirds full.

The supporters that did turn up booed at full-time after Daichi Kamada scored twice to win the game for the Germans after Pierre Emerick Aubameyabng put Arsenal in front.

Unai Emery admitted afterwards that times are tough:

"Now, our moment is not good. We need to win, to achieve and gain confidence. I think we are better than we are showing. We lost some confidence and we need to win."

Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo and former Juventus boss Max Allegri are believed to be in the running to take over in North London if Emery is shown the door.

Swede Freddie Ljungberg is the current first-team coach and could assume temporary control until a new boss is appointed.

Arsenal's next game is against Norwich City in the Premier League on Sunday.
