One of the stars of classic Spaghetti Western The Good, The Bad and The Ugly, Eli Wallach, has died.
The BAFTA, Tony and Emmy winner was 98.
The actor also had major roles in films like The Godfather Part Three, The Magnificent Seven and the Kate Winslet romcom The Holiday.
Wallach grew up the son of Polish Jewish immigrants in an Italian-dominated neighbourhood in New York.
He earned a degree from the City College of New York and studied acting at the Neighbourhood Playhouse and the Actors Studio.
Despite his many years of film work, some of it critically acclaimed, Wallach was never nominated for an Academy Award but in November 2010, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences awarded him an honorary Oscar.
