Former Liverpool and Spain forward Luis Garcia has announced he is hanging up his boots.

During his 17-year career the Spaniard was part of the Anfield side which won the Champions League in 2005 and the 2006 FA Cup.

He also played for Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and most recently lined out for Mexican side Pumas.

He also represented his country at the 2006 World Cup.

While Jose Mourinho may remember him for the ghost goal scored against Chelsea in the 2005 Champions League semi-final, Liverpool fans will remember for spectacular strikes such as these...

Garcia also had a chant that was sung along to the tune of You Are My Sunshine: "Luis García, he drinks Sangria/he came from Barça to bring us joy!/He's five-foot seven, he's football heaven/So please don't take our Luis away!"
