It's easy to be cynical about Vine. With the short video length, it has been dismissed as little more than a novelty. A few months into its much-hyped existence, it has failed to change the world. Will it ever become a major part of its big brother Twitter?

But sometimes smart use of gimmicks can be very, very impressive. This Vine from user JehReh uses the simple tools provided by Twitter's video service to create a remarkable special effects trick. Hollywood CGI has nothing on this impressive illusion.
