Michael Owen and Jason Roberts joined Alan Hansen on MOTD on Saturday evening and Alan was a somewhat less than gracious host. Have either of the two scored this season? No. Did Alan make sure we all knew about that? Yes.

A pitch invader isn’t anything particularly noteworthy, but a one legged pitch invader is. We can say that after a quick survey of the Newstalk sport desk there is nobody here who can recall memories of a one legged pitch invader, in any sport. We even asked Oisin Langan, and he’s been to twenty three Munster club hurling finals.
Luckily Brazil was on hand this weekend to help us all tick another one off the bucket list. This one legged invader was at the Corinthians V Coritiba game when he made his move. We don’t see exactly how he gets on the pitch but, it must be said, the stewards seem a bit heavy handed, all things considered.

Comedy is all about timing and the gif below is a masterclass in the art. The wandering Palermo player in the foreground leaves the picture just a ball comes from, seemingly, nowhere and strikes an unaware Ciro Ferrara, the Sampdoria manager, square in the face.
In the fine tradition of slapstick the glasses are tossed away while Ferrara wonders what the hell has just happened. It all combines to give us all a very childish, but slightly irresistible, giggle.
In other Serie A news, the Rome derby took place yesterday. Traditionally one of the world’s most intense games of football this edition was no different with Lazio running out 3-2 winners in a game that included some great goals and a red card for Roma’s Danielle De Rossi.
Roma’s Miralem Pjanic got a spectacular late free kick, struck from close to the halfway line than the Lazio box, to pull one back for Roma late on. He celebrated the goal by aggressively shouting towards the Roma benhc. Reports so far indicate it was aimed at Roma coach Zdenek Zeman, as Pjanic isn’t feeling too pleased with being dropped from the side several times already this season.

This was all after Roma had been reduced to ten men, when Danielle De Rossi was dismissed for punching Lazio’s Mauri.
