London Mayor Boris Johnson got a little too into a game of rugby in Tokyo recently, knocking over a ten-year-old boy as he got into the full competitive spirit of a photo call while on an official trip to Japan.
Johnson collected the ball on the wing of the artificial turf pitch, got himself up to a gallop before dropping a feint and barreling into the child, shoulder first, as they both fell to the ground.
Johnson quickly got back to his feet and said “I’m so sorry, are you OK?”
The child, Toki Sekiguchi said “I felt a little pain but it’s OK.” The pair posed for a picture afterwards and Johnson gave him a gift of a rugby ball.
