HBO has put the internet into a spin this evening with the release of a trailer for season two of hit show True Detective.
The first season, a dark, stylish detective thriller set in the southern United States, starring Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson, earned rave reviews, cult-like devotion and a major commercial hit for HBO.
The follow up brings an all new story-line and cast, with Irish actor Colin Farrell, Vince Vaughn and Rachel McAdams in central roles.
Leaving the swamps of the deep South behind, the mystery in season two is focused on an investigation set in California.
While the story-line and cast are fresh, the teaser should assure fans that writer/producer Nic Pizzolatto has stuck with the dark, atmospheric look and themes that made up the core of the first season.
