April 6th, 2013 was the day the phenomenon of Conor McGregor's career truly began.

The Dubliner made his UFC debut in Stockholm against American Marcus Brimage in the pre-show for UFC on Fuel TV: Mousasi vs. Latifi. McGregor even earned a $75,000 bonus for the Knockout of the Night.

The fight lasted 67 seconds as McGregor won with a flurry of punches to hand Brimage his first UFC defeat. The loss was Brimage's first of five defeats in six fights before he was released by the promotion last year.

The words of co-commentator and former UFC title-contender Kenny Florian seemed prophetic after the fight. "This kid is the real deal", Florian proclaimed after the win.

Such has been McGregor's progress in the promotion. Swedish fighter Ilir Latifi has fought on the under-card of two of McGregor's last six fights despite fighting in the main event in Stockholm.

McGregor's path through the UFC has been historic and he still hopes to become the first fighter to hold two separate UFC belts at the same time. Before McGregor can even dream of that feat, he faces Nate Diaz at UFC 200, looking to avenge his only defeat. That fight takes place in Las Vegas on July 9th.
