Ghana manager James Appiah has confirmed that there is $3 million on a private jet somewhere above the Atlantic heading towards Brazil.

The Ghanian government has been forced to step in and pay the appearance fees owed to the players ahead of tomorrow's game against Portugal after the players had refused to take part in training earlier today.

Ewan MacKenna who was at the Ghana press conference joined us on the line to discuss the shambolic situation which is hardly great preparation for a must win final group game.

"Just to highlight the madness, Christian Atsu - the Chelsea contracted player - when asked if he was worried about carrying around all that money, burst out laughing for about two minutes and said 'we can stuff it in our bags' and then continued laughing again," said Ewan, who also added that Ghana's money is heading to their base in Brazil which is one of the most dangerous cities on earth.

Ewan also addressed why bonuses are an issue that constantly plague African teams and how the Ghanaian media have reacted to the situation.
