With the news that David Pocock might be set to sign a huge deal that would make him the best paid player in the world, who are the other top paid players in the sport?

The future of David Pocock seems to be up in the air as he is making a decision between taking a year away from the game, or he could be in line for a big money move to the Aviva Premiership by joining Wasps.

Chris Jones of the London Evening Standard stated that Dai Young was very clear that the deal would not be happening, but that has done little to quell the rumours that he may be putting pen to paper on a record-breaking contract.

According to The Telegraph, the salary on offer is in excess of the £1.4 million (€1,795,00) that Dan Carter earns at Racing 92, and would make the Australian the best-paid player in the world.

Off the back of the news that Ayumu Goromaru of the Queensland Reds also signed a deal believed to be worth even more than Carter's deal this week, they put together a look at the other top paid players in the world.
