Wigan chairman Dave Whelan has been charged by the Football Association with an 'aggravated breach' of its rules.

The FA had been investigating him after he made comments about Jewish and Chinese people.

Whelan has been accused of anti-Semitism and racism.

He has until 6PM next Friday to respond to the charge.

Whelan had stated that he would step down as chairman if he were to be guilty.
