Three World Cup participants will have to travel more than 14,000km during this summer's tournament.

Italy are based in Rio De Janeiro but must also face trips to the North of Brazil for their group games against England, Uruguay and Costa Rica which will take place in the same three locations as USA.

Mexico also face trips in excess of 14,000km in Group A which features Brazil, Cameroon and Croatia.

Compared to that trio, Belgium only have to travel 1,984 kilometres in their group which is far below the 7,525km average for all 32 teams.

Argentina will only travel 3,590 kilomtres for their first three matches.

Hosts Brazil are closest to the 7,525km average as their schedule dictates that they must cover as many parts of Brazil as possible throughout the tournament as Tim Vickery explained on Off The Ball recently.

The Selecao face group games in Sao Paolo (South-East), Fortaleza (North-East) and capital Brasilia (Central-West).
