Steven Spielberg's film 'Lincoln' has received the highest number of Oscar nominations for this years awards. It has received 12 nods in total including:
- Performance by an actor in a leading role - Daniel Day Lewis
- Performance by an actress in a supporting role - Sally Field
- Achievement in directing - Steven Spielberg
- Achievement in cinematography
- And Best motion picture of the year
In a film career that has spanned more than four decades, Spielberg has won three Academy Awards.

He has been nominated for six Academy Awards for the category of Best Director, winning two of them (Schindler's List and Saving Private Ryan), and seven of the films he directed were up for the Best Picture Oscar (Schindler's List won).
Spielberg did this interview in the same year that he directed the infamous E.T. and also the same year that he spent $60,500 to buy a Rosebud sled from the 1941 film Citizen Kane.
