The May bank holiday has arrived, bringing with it falling cherry blossoms and the promise of a warm summer. In celebration of this well deserved break 'Talking History' will be taking a look back at two of our best discussions from the past year. Join Patrick this bank holiday Sunday as he revisits the provocative art of the avant-garde master Marcel Duchamp and the musical genius of the jazz legend Louis Armstrong.

At 7pm we take a look back at the life of Marcel Duchamp. Born in France in 1887 Duchamp changed the world of art with an upturned urinal. Though a great artist in his own right Duchamp's greatest legacy was his upturning of the accepted order. All convention was changed as helped usher in a visual revolution that said that something is art because the artists says so. Join Patrick as he looks back on this fascinating discussion.

Moving from art to music 8pm sees Patrick take a look back on the life and music of the legend, Louis Armstrong. Born in New Orleans in 1901 Louis Armstrong became one of the greatest musicians of the 20th century. His voice and music helped bring jazz to the fore of American culture and change music around the world. Listen in as Patrick revisits the discussion on Satchmo's life, music, and his lasting legacy.
