At 7pm this Easter Sunday, while the children sleep off the sugar induced exhaustion and the adults finish the last of the chocolate, 'Talking History' will be taking to the air with two of our best discussion of the last year. Crack an egg with us as we look back at the life and writing of the great Roman poet Virgil and the theories of the great French philosopher Michel Foucault.

Join Patrick at 7pm as he looks back at our discussion on the poems of Virgil and their place in history. Why is he regarded as one of the greatest writers from ancient Rome? What impact did the politics of the day have on his works? How indebted is he to his Greek predecessors? And how are his works read and interpreted today?

At 8pm we delve into the philosophy of punishment as Patrick looks back at our discussion on the writings of Michel Foucault and their impact on 20th century thought. How did Foucault's ideas impact on the practice of punishment? Do his theories still hold water? And should they still shape how we approach punishment today?
