It could be said that in the past 24 hours, Scottish Premiership side Partick Thistle have brought more global publicity to Scottish football than other clubs have in the past 12 months.
When we think of mascots across all sports we think of cartoon caricature inspired creations that appeal to a younger audience. Partick Thistle have gone down a different route, when they introduced their new mascot Kingsley to the world yesterday.
Turner Prize nominee and Partick Thistle fan David Shrigley designed the mascot and speaking about the design has said that despite assumptions, children were not afraid of the mascot at the launch.
Shrigley and the mascot event appeared on Scotland Tonight last night on STV. Presenter John Mackay was delighted to see the mascot in their studios.

Even Newstalk's Team 33 were impressed by the reaction Kingsley created.
