Every species plays a crucial role in our natural world. But when people start to interfere, a chain reaction can cause entire ecosystems to break down. In this hour, TED speakers explain how everything is connected in nature, with suggestions about how we can restore the delicate balance. 

Journalist George Monbiot wants us to "rewild" -- restoring creatures back into lost ecosystems. We hear how wolves who were once native to the Yellowstone National Park were wiped out but returned  in 1995, bringing harmony to the park once again.

Jane Poynter tells her story of living two years in Biosphere 2 -- an experience that provoked her to explore how we might sustain life in the harshest of environments. 

Bernie Krause has been recording wild soundscapes for 45 years. He has seen many environments radically altered by human. Krause gives examples of how you can hear environments radically change through his recordings of wildlife.
