There is nothing worse than a noisy dog barking at night when you're trying to sleep - but what can be done?

One TD is seeking to bring in legislation on barking dogs.

Labour's Sean Kenny said he has received a number of complaints over the years from his Dublin North-East constituency.

Currently, people can make a complaint to the District Court over noisy animals.

There is also a commitment in the Programme for Government to take further steps to address noise pollution.

But Mr Kenny says more should be done. He spoke to the Pat Kenny Show here on Newstalk.
