A little boy is fighting for his life after being found unconscious in a swimming pool at a Cork hotel yesterday.
The boy (4) has been named locally as Ronan Kennedy from Templederry in Co Tipperary.
He is being treated at Temple Street Children's Hospital in Dublin.
He was holidaying with his parents, John and Bridget, and his two brothers when the incident happened at the Quality Hotel in Redbarn.
It is believed a lifeguard pulled him from the water and carried out CPR before he was transferred to Cork University Hospital.
Gardaí in Youghal are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
He has since been transferred to Temple Street Children's Hospital in Dublin, where he is still being treated.
