The seven year old girl at the centre of the Gardai / HSE action is spending her second morning in the care of the HSE today.

The results of DNA tests which will determine if the little girl is returned to the Roma couple who claim to be her parents are expected to be known this afternoon.

The blond hair, blue eyed child has been in the care of the HSE since Monday afternoon after a member of the public raised concerns that the child did not look like the family she was living with.

Dunphy expressed concern at the nature of this entire case and said:

"Could the child have been left with the family while the investigation took place, rather than traumatising the child?"
