A Kerry mother has hit out at Ireland's laws on hit-and-run incidents, after her husband was knocked down and killed nearly 3 years ago.

A 23-year-old man was last week jailed for 6 and a half years, with 18 months suspended, for dangerous driving causing the death of Paud O'Leary near Killarney on the first of July 2012.

The 42-year-old was training for a fundraising cycle when the collision happened.

Margaret O'Leary believes the laws in the area are 'loose', and the government needs to look another look at them.

She spoke to Jonathan Healy on the Pat Kenny show about the death of her husband:
