Lucinda Creighton's new political party - which does not currently have a name, but was announced with the tag 'RebootIreland' last month - will prohibit cronyism for members.

A code of conduct for the party, which is set to be launched next month, has been presented by Deputy Creighton and mortgage broker Karl Deeter ahead of the party's official launch.

It is also promised that the party will not allow mistakes of the past to take place in the future.

Independent TD Lucinda Creighton spoke to Pat Kenny this morning about the code of conduct. She says people who have and will sign up to the party are being asked to adhere to "certain basic minimum standards" and to "abide by the highest moral and ethical standards".

"The difference is that we will actually implement this and if people don't abide by it - whether they are ordinary members of the party or elected representatives - they will be out. That will be non-negotiable," she explained.
